Union Studio Reno

Hello and welcome to my website for Union Studio.

I am really excited to share my love of fitness with you. I have been passionate about exercising since my mother signed me up for my first gymnastics class when I was four years old. I played basketball in Jr. High School. I swam competitively in High School and played as a flanker for my rugby team at University Nevada Reno. Playing rugby I tore my a.c.l. In order to rehabilitate my knee I started a yoga practice. Within a year I got certified and began teaching yoga. I loved teaching yoga and with a B.A. in theater found it was a way to utilize my acting experience. I wanted to teach more and got certified in Pilates and Spin but that wasn’t enough to make a career and I became a Personal Trainer 11 years ago. Follow me on Facebook Union Studio if you’d like to get a better feel for me.

I know not everyone is as addicted to working out as I am but it is my goal to make your fitness experience as fun and effective as possible. My concept is centered around your personal fitness and every studio hour will cater to custom one-on-one training in my private, boutique studio. Every session will be individually tailored uniquely to fit YOUR goal. If you come to train with me you don’t have to worry about all the rigmarole of initiation fees or monthly dues at a normal gym. It’s just you and me in my private space. You don’t have to stress about how you look or how your days been going because it’s just us getting your sweat on. Scroll down to my testimonies and there are plenty of people who have fun working out with me. I look forward to helping create a stronger healthier you! First time customers will receive a complimentary session.

I create a unique fitness experience where we can build custom made work-outs.

Functional Training

This is more of my traditional personal training approach to fitness. I combine body weight, free weight, medicine ball and bosu exercises for a full body work-out.

Suspension training that uses a system of ropes that allows the user to work against their own body weight. It is a form of resistance training that includes body weight exercises in which a variety of multi-planar, compound exercise movements can be performed.

Mat Pilates

Is done on the floor using an exercise mat. It employs controlled breathing during body weight resisted movement to build strength in the core, back, glutes and hips. The exercises look simple but require stabilization of the center and a focused effort to keep the abdominals contracted and working throughout the exercises.

Hands-On Yoga/ Assisted Stretching

A massage therapist manipulates at the muscle and a chiropractor adjusts at the bone. I will help to resolve the problem at the source creating flexibility where there is chronic tightness on your body. I can help guide you into poses and stretches you can’t achieve on your own. In our own private practice even when looking in a mirror we can have trouble finding the right alignment. From an outside view I can help you build better form.

Yoga Keeps You Young

The average lifespan of a Yogi is around a 100 years old. Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar (helped to introduce the practice of Yoga to the Western world) lived to be 95 and at 80 years old was still in better shape than a lot of 40 year olds. There are some fairly obvious physical benefits to […]

Tabata Yoga

For those of you that have never heard of Tabata, it’s not a bread that goes great with hummus, but it just might be your new favorite exercise.
